New Delhi: Pakistan came into existence following the independence of India and the partition of the main land in August 1947. It is the western neighbour of India and has been a major irritant since its inception.

It has fought four wars with India and every time it has been humiliated by Indian Armed Forces.

Currently, Pakistan boasts of a huge, powerful military that it has created with specific focus on India.

There are 654,000 soldiers in the Pakistani army. Pakistan today gets help from China. It has a total of 1,434 aircraft and 387 fighter jets. India is ahead in this realm. Pakistan’s missiles

Pakistan has several series of missiles that include many types of cruise missiles and ballistic missiles.

These missiles include Anti-tank Guided Missiles (ATGM) like GIDS Baktar-Shikan and Kornet-E.

Battlefield Range or Tactical Ballistic Missiles (BRBM) like Hatf-I, Hatf-IA, and Ghaznavi.

Short Range Ballistic Missiles (SRBM) like Abdali, Shaheen, Shaheen-I, and Shaheen-IA.

Medium Range Ballistic Missiles (MRBM) like Ghauri-I, Ghauri-II, and Ababeel.

Pakistan also has Ground-Launched Anti-Ship & Anti-Surface Guided Missiles and Ship-Launched Anti-Submarine Rockets.

Both India and Pakistan are nuclear power states.

According to the SIPRI report, India has 172 nuclear warheads while Pakistan has 170 nuclear warheads as per January 2024.
