The 2024 U.S. presidential election is heating up with Kamala Harris and Donald Trump making their final campaign efforts in key battleground states like Pennsylvania. Both candidates are focusing on strengthening their bases in the run-up to Election Day. Harris, the Democratic nominee, is aiming to make history as the first woman president and is garnering significant support from female voters. Meanwhile, Trump is building traction among Hispanic men, positioning himself as the candidate who can restore his previous administration’s policies.
By Monday morning, more than 78 million Americans had already cast their ballots as Kamala Harris and Donald Trump made their final appeals across seven crucial battleground states. Locked in a close race, the Vice President and former President are in a virtual dead heat heading into Election Day.
According to the latest national polling averages, Harris holds a slight 0.9-point lead over Trump in the FiveThirtyEight weighted average, with 47.9% support to Trump’s 47%. Conversely, the RealClearPolitics average shows Trump narrowly leading Harris by 0.1 points, with 48.5% to Harris’s 48.4%. However, the outcome will ultimately be determined by electoral college votes from the key battlegrounds.
These seven battleground states—Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona, and Nevada—remain up for grabs as they often shift between Democratic and Republican preferences.
