According to a South China Morning Post, Chinese scientists conducted research on mice and found that the treatment they are developing could protect against cancer and nuclear attacks. Interestingly, China made this discovery at a time when most countries in the world are directly or indirectly embroiled in a war or other conflict.
Protection against nuclear attack
A study led by Associate Research Fellow Sun Yirong at the Guangzhou Institute of Biomedicine and Health suggests that if the protein called STING or the interferon gene stimulator is eliminated from the body, it could withstand a nuclear attack.
The report states that during experiments on mice, it was observed that their survival rate increased from 11 percent to 67 percent. This means that if the experiment is successful, the body could withstand a nuclear attack.
Meanwhile, scientists observed issues in the stomachs of the mice from which the protein called STING was not eliminated.
Scientists say that the presence of STING protein in the body activates death cells. If provisions are made to eliminate it, a nuclear attack could be rendered insignificant.
