Beirut: The Embassy of India in Beirut on Wednesday issued an advisory notice strongly advising against travelling to Lebanon till further notice following the recent incident of air strikes and blasts in communication devices. Issuing a notice, the embassy said, “As a reiteration of the advisory issued on 1 August 2024 and in view of the recent developments and escalations in the region, Indian nationals are strongly advised against travelling to Lebanon till further notice.”

They have also urged Indian nationals living in Lebanon to leave the country as soon as possible. Additionally, they advised people to take “extreme caution” and stay in touch with the Embassy, which will continue to operate in light of the worsening situation.

The embassy further wrote, “All Indian nationals already in Lebanon are also strongly advised to leave Lebanon. Those who remain for any reason are advised to exercise extreme caution, restrict their movements, and remain in contact with the Embassy of India in Beirut through our email ID: cons.beirut@mea.gov.in or the emergency phone number +96176860128.”
On September 24, the Lebanese Health Ministry confirmed that Israel’s recent military strikes in Lebanon have caused at least 558 deaths, according to a report by Al Jazeera. Out of the 558 people killed in IDF strikes, 50 were children, the Lebanese Health Ministry reported. They also stated that 1,835 people have been injured.
Israel persisted in striking Hezbollah positions in Lebanon, while the Iran-backed militant group responded by firing volleys of rockets at Haifa, Nahariya, the Galilee, and the Jezreel Valley throughout the night and into Tuesday morning.
The Israel Defense Forces reported that the Air Force targeted over 1,600 sites in southern Lebanon and the Beqaa Valley, including missile launchers, command posts, and various militant infrastructures, some of which were located within civilian homes.
Israeli artillery and tanks targeted additional Hezbollah positions in the areas of Ayta ash Shab and Ramyeh near the border. The IDF reported that 210 rockets were launched into Israel on Monday. Several Israelis received treatment for shrapnel injuries sustained while seeking shelter, as well as for panic attacks.
