Pakistan vs Taliban: Pak Army unleashes deadly attack on TTP, Taliban fighters due to…

Islamabad: The Taliban has launched a dreadful attack on Pakistan. Meanwhile, the Pakistani Army stated that it thwarted infiltration attempts in Kurram and North Waziristan and decisively responded to cross-border attacks by militants. As per Geo News, sources from the Pakistani Army revealed that a group of 20-25 TTP militants, supported by the Afghan Taliban, launched an unprovoked heavy weapons assault on Pakistani posts early this morning.

In the retaliatory attack, the Pak army neutralised more than 15 fighters, including Taliban soldiers. In the gunfight, Taliban soldiers have majorly suffered losses.

According to the Taliban, their recent strike was a response to Pakistani airstrikes in Afghanistan’s Paktika territory. It alleged that Pakistan’s military actions targeted a refugee camp in the Barmal locale, claiming it led to the unfortunate loss of 46 lives, counting women and children.

Speaking on behalf of the Taliban, it was stated their counterattacks were targeted toward “harmful entities” they believed were situated in Pakistan.

The relationship between Islamabad and the Taliban is experiencing heightened strain recently. It’s an ongoing conflict, with Pakistan regularly pointing fingers at the Taliban. They believe the Taliban is offering sanctuary to members of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). These are the very individuals thought to be orchestrating numerous lethal attacks on Pakistani security officials.

The surge of the Taliban in Afghanistan in 2021 has had a ripple effect, influencing the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), an organization that shares ideological ties with the Afghan Taliban. Pakistani authorities argue that the TTP has found a safe haven in Afghanistan, an accusation the Taliban leadership vehemently denies.

On Saturday, Pakistan’s military posted on its official X account, boldly reiterating its stand. They have effectively halted any incursion attempts by militants who are believed to be associated with the Taliban.

Taliban, however, rubbished these claims, accusing Pakistan of violating Afghanistan’s sovereignty through cross-border airstrikes.

The border areas of Pakistan and Afghanistan are witnessing renewed conflicts recently, parallel to an escalating regional instability. In the past few months, there’s been a distinct uptick in hostility across the border, with each country pointing fingers at each other for initiating conflicts and disrupting peace.

Experts are raising flags that these growing military encounters could potentially fuel tension between the two nations, complicating efforts to manage shared security concerns as well as a wider humanitarian predicament impacting millions of Afghans displaced by relentless conflict and economic strife.

Confirmed details on the casualty count from either side are still lacking, just as the border situation remains volatile.
