Tokyo: We have witnessed several rape cases in recent years where the accused receive punishment only after several years, and the victims are brutally killed. The families of the victims eventually get justice, but it takes years, as cases remain pending in court, such as in the Nirbhaya case. The government has taken several steps and strengthened laws to punish offenders, yet incidents of rape continue to occur in the country. However, one rape case that shocked the world due to its sheer brutality happened in Japan. All limits of cruelty were crossed in this case. It is a story of a 17-year-old girl who was gangraped not one or two but 400 times in 44 days, and her life was made hell.
The crime was committed in Japan’s Saitama city. The 17-year-old victim was very smart in her studies. She wanted to go on a trip with her own money after completing her schooling. With her studies, the victim started a part-time job to earn some money. Then came that dark night, when she was returning home from work and two boys of about 16-17 years were walking on the same road. They assured the girl that they were her well-wishers and took her to an empty house where they raped her. Through this, the girl called her family and told them that wherever she was, she was fine and happy.
Period Of Cruelty
After raping the girl, the accused locked her in the house and planned to rape her again in the future as well. This is the beginning of the cruelty beyond all limits. The accused boys brought their friends, who also raped the girl. One day, one of the accused took her to his house and introduced her to his family as his girlfriend. However, in a few days, his family realised that he was lying and something was wrong with the girl.
Got Cockroaches To Eat And Had To Drink Urine
In 44 days of cruelty, the victim was raped 400 times by over 100 accused boys. At first, they gave her little food, but cruelty reached its peak and she was given cockroaches to eat. She was also forced to drink her urine. The accused also made her smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol. Sharp objects were inserted into her private parts, due to which she also got infected.
The victim’s condition became so bad that she started begging the boys to kill her. Worms started growing in her body, pus started coming out, and she started stinking.
After seeing this, the accused stopped touching her. One day, after losing at gambling, a boy took out his anger on her, thrashing her badly. She succumbed to her injuries. The accused boys buried Junko’s body by putting it in a plastic bag.
How Did The Truth Come Out?
Despite committing this crime, the boys continued to target other girls. When one of them was apprehended by the police, he was confused during the interrogation and inadvertently recounted the story of Junko. This led to the resurfacing of Junko’s case, and her family was notified, resulting in a decline in her mother’s mental health and a deterioration in her father’s condition. Disturbingly, those responsible for such extreme brutality were classified as juveniles and were released after serving only a few years, with their identities kept confidential. However, a magazine later disclosed their names and images.
