New Delhi: During the Khalistan referendum in Ottawa, Canada, on Sunday, November 23, Khalistani terrorists desecrated the Indian flag and chanted slogans calling for the killing of the Indian Prime Minister and officials.
These people were participating in an unofficial and illegal vote, called the “Khalistan Referendum.” One question being asked was, “Should Punjab be separated from India and a new, independent country, Khalistan, be created?”
Thousands of people participated
According to media reports, thousands of people participated. People stood in a queue nearly two km long, holding yellow Khalistan flags, from morning until evening.
The event was organised by the terrorist organisation Sikhs for Justice (SFJ). Organisers claim that more than 53,000 Khalistan supporters came to vote from the provinces of Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Quebec. People came with small children, pregnant women, and the elderly.
Slogans raised against the Indian PM
Outside the voting site, the MacNab Community Center, Khalistan supporters raised slogans such as “Kill them, kill them” against the Indian Prime Minister, Home Minister, and other leaders, inciting people against India.
SFJ chief terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu addressed the crowd via satellite from abroad.
Questions raised about the Modi-Carney meeting
Canadian PM Mark Carney recently met PM Modi during the G-20 Summit in South Africa. SFJ questioned why the Canadian PM met with the Indian PM when anti-India and separatist activities are taking place in Canada.
The Indian government called the event illegal and said it was an attack on India’s sovereignty. Canadian soil was being used to break India.
Indian flag was desecrated in 2024 too
The Indian flag has been desecrated here several times before. In March 2024, Khalistani protesters in Calgary cut the tricolour with swords and spears.
During the protest, Khalistanis wrote “Hindu terrorist” under the photos of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath.
