Florida: After holding a crucial meeting with Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, United States President Donald Trump on Monday (local time) issued a strict warning to Iran that his country would carry out another military strike if it attempts to rebuild its ballistic missile or nuclear programme. While speaking to the media, he said that Washington is keeping an eye and closely watching Tehran’s actions. The US President met PM Netanyahu at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida yesterday.
What Did Trump Say?
“I hear that Iran is trying to build up again and if they are, we’re going to have to knock them down,” Trump said. “We’ll knock them down. We’ll knock the hell out of them.”
On being asked whether he would support an Israeli strike targeting Iran’s missile programme, the US President, without hesitation, state that he would support an ‘immediate’ attack on Iran if it tries to rebuild its nuclear capabilities. He further urged the Middle Eastern country to pursue talks with the United States.
“If they will continue with the missiles, yes. The nuclear? One will be: Yes, absolutely. The other is: We’ll do it immediately. That’s smarter. They could have made a deal the last time before we went through, you know, a big attack on them,” Trump said.
US Launched Airstrikes On Nuclear Facilities In Iran
In June this year, the US Air Force and Navy attacked three nuclear facilities in Iran. The operation was described by Trump as a major military success, which tarnished Tehran’s nuclear dreams.
Netanyahu recently highlighted that Iran is again expanding its ballistic missile program.
“I am not going to talk about the overthrow of a regime. They have a lot of problems there. They have tremendous inflation. Their economy is no good, and the people aren’t happy,” Trump said.
Trump’s remarks on Iran come after holding a crucial meeting with Netanyahu at his Mar-a-lago club to discuss the second phase of the Gaza peace plan.
